The New Jersey Department of the Treasury has announced immediate reductions in key business filing fees, making it more affordable for entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations to establish and grow operations in the Garden State.

Effective immediately, the fee to form a business entity in New Jersey has been reduced from $125 to $100, while the filing fee for domestic nonprofit organizations has been lowered from $75 to $50.

The fee reductions are designed to decrease startup costs, encourage business formation, and support the valuable work performed by nonprofit organizations throughout New Jersey communities.

“Reducing these fees helps remove financial barriers for individuals looking to start a business and for nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving residents across the state,” said Treasury officials. “By lowering formation costs, New Jersey is reinforcing its commitment to fostering economic growth, innovation, and community engagement.”

The reduction in business formation fees will benefit entrepreneurs launching new ventures across a wide range of industries, while the lower nonprofit filing fee will provide additional support to organizations focused on education, health care, social services, arts, culture, and other charitable missions.

Fee Changes at a Glance

Applicants submitting new business or domestic nonprofit formations will automatically receive the updated pricing. No additional action is required to qualify for the reduced fees.
