LBI Ferry Service Sets Sail for Summer 2026

Chamber News Visitor Information

Beginning its 8th year Powered by Community Partnership and Coastal Heritage

The LBI Ferry Service returns for its eighth summer. This beloved pontoon‑style experience offers a one‑hour narrated tour between The Tuckerton Seaport and Beach Haven, giving passengers a front‑row seat to the natural beauty and maritime heritage of Southern Ocean County. As a proud stakeholder, the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce continues to champion the ferry’s success, recognized with the New Jersey State Excellence Award in 2019 for its role in downtown‑driven partnerships that strengthen the region and elevate visitor experiences.

Beginning Fourth of July weekend and running every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday through Labor Day, the ferry provides a relaxing and memorable way to explore the bay. Each trip is guided by knowledgeable naturalists who share stories of the wildlife, and waterways that define the Jersey Shore.

Daily schedules offer multiple departure times from each dock. From Tuckerton Seaport, ferries leave at 8 a.m., 11 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m., with the final trip returning to Beach Haven for the day. From Beach Haven, departures run at 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m., with the last ride returning to Tuckerton. Reservations must be made online here.

The ferry accommodates up to 28 guests per ride with boarding limited to those over two years old. Children under twelve must wear a Coast Guard‑approved personal flotation device, provided on board. Riders should be prepared for occasional spray or wet conditions. The ferry operates rain or shine and may adjust or cancel trips at the captain’s discretion during inclement weather. Small coolers are welcome, and cyclists may bring a bicycle aboard at no charge, though space is limited to two bikes per trip and bike reservations are recommended to ensure safe capacity. For more information, contact Tuckerton Seaport directly at 609-296-8868.
