Fall Women in Business

The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce continues its longstanding commitment to supporting professional growth through its Women in Business program, a series that brings together women from across the LBI Region to exchange ideas, build relationships, and learn from one another. Over the years, the initiative has highlighted the work of local nonprofits, medical institutions, farms, and community organizations, offering participants a closer look at the women shaping the region’s business and civic landscape.

This September’s meeting aligns meaningfully with Women in Medicine Month, a national observance that celebrates the contributions and leadership of women physicians and medical professionals. With that backdrop, the Chamber will host its Women in Business gathering on September 22 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at HMH Southern Ocean Medical Center. The panel of speakers will be:

Laurie Kane, M.D., FACOG; Urogynecologist
Lauryn D. Bianco, D.O., MBA; Orthopedic Surgeon
Rachel NeMoyer, M.D., MPH; Thoracic Surgeon
Courtney Shan, MBA; OR Business Manager
Allison Clemente, Executive Director of Development, Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation

Attendees will meet in the Beach Plum Conference Room, located just off the cafeteria, at the hospital’s main address: 1140 NJ‑72 in Manahawkin. As a key healthcare hub for the community, the medical center provides an ideal setting for a conversation about leadership, connection, and the role women play in advancing both business and healthcare.

The morning will include refreshments and open networking, giving participants the chance to form new connections and strengthen existing ones.
